

THE LADY ENGINEER
Nuttah Mumbi is a Professional Civil Engineer with over six years of work experience in the construction industry. She is a professional member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ) and registered with the Engineering Registration Board (ERB). She attended Dominican Convent High School in Ndola, Zambia where she graduated with a full grade twelve certificate. She later on went to pursue a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering at Copperbelt University, Kitwe, Zambia. She also pursued the Master of Engineering in Project Management program from Mulungushi University, Kabwe, Zambia. Nuttah also holds a postgraduate Advanced Diploma in Project Management from the Institute of Commercial Management, United Kingdom.

Her industry experience has constituted management of various civil engineering projects ranging from roads to buildings, drainages, embankments, bridges, water and wastewater projects. She is skilled in engineering design, cost estimation, project management, preparation and review of engineering reports, bidding documents, contracts and research papers. Nuttah has both middle and top management level skills and experience in both the private and public sectors.
Nuttah has been nominated and won a number of awards for her dedicated contribution to the construction industry. She is a 2021 Finalist in the Goi- Peace Foundation Citizen Entrepreneurship Awards for the Best Projects in the Youth Category. She was also nominated for the most promising founder of the year award in the She Awards. Nuttah has been previously recognised and awarded as a dedicated employee to duty in the engineering and construction field. She has also been recognized in areas other than the construction industry for her efforts in promoting Women Economic Empowerment and Skills Development as well as Leadership. She is a 2021 United Global People Sustainability Leader, Alumna of the 2017 YALI Regional Leadership Center Southern Africa program and a 2016 UN Women Empower Women Global Champion for Change.
The Lady Engineer has been featured on some blogs, magazines including the Engineering Institution of Zambia Echo Magazine and on Spice Fm radio in a quest to inspire the next generation of Civil Engineers. Nuttah has also authored a book titled “Dear Kosa” that is simply a guide for high school and college/ university students. She is also a writer and speaker on construction and leadership matters.
